Simply outstanding. You pay for what you get with this product. I own a blender/mixer that I used to make smoothies, and the CIA Vitamix blows it completely out of the water, in fact you can't even compare a regular blender to this. First of all, my last blender was so loud that I had to brace myself before turning it on, and it did could not tackle frozen strawberries, leaving large lumps in my smoothies.

I had been eyeing this product at a luxury retailer for almost a year, but I was reluctant to buy because of the price. Also, I have been wanting to break out of my shell and start preparing foods from scratch like the chef's do. So finally, I caved in and purchased it through Amazon (better deal). When it arrived, I was impressed by the size, it definitely is a commercial grade product. Also, the carafe is surprisingly light, not made of glass, but very strong and well built. However, I felt trepidation when it came to turning it on, fearing that such a powerful machine must pack a loud punch. Again, I was pleasantly surprised when I turned it on, the sound was (for lack of a better term), ambient, compared to my previous blender. I could blend all day and not be bothered by the sound of a small boat engine in my kitchen.

I am so impressed with the way this blends, not a lump remains. And while I am not a cook, I have been making recipes non stop. I made the onion cheese frittata that came in the wonderful recipe book that came with it, and even my mother who is a seasoned cook was impressed. Also tried an Italian ice fruit dessert which was amazing. I love that one can make hot soups, gazpacho (which I love), sauces, butters, and so much more!

Now when I go to the grocery store, I don't even buy packaged products because I know I can make the same thing at home (and a healthier version at that). I now just purchase lot's of fruits and vegetables and with that alone, I know I can make a number of satisfying meals in a matter of minutes. I can actually fulfill my dream of cooking full meals at holidays without having to order the food pre-made or cooking a couple ok recipes. Meals are limitless with this product. This product is how great, restaurant quality meals are made.

I love my VitaMix. I made the mistake of trying to get something else for less money and now I am paying the price. I purchased the Montel Williams Living Well emulsifier/blender less than a year ago after paying 0. The carafe part started leaking oil all over my counter and, since it wasn't part of the motor, was not covered under the warranty. I also had a difficult time twisting the lid on and off, as it has to be seated correctly to operate. Finally the motor started slipping. I purchased the Vitamix blender and am more than pleased. It works better and in less time, is easier to use, is more compact so takes up less room, and has a better warranty. Spend the extra money on the VitaMix... it's worth every penny.

I make smoothies with lots of ice...generally some frozen fruit and 2 cups of ice (sometimes more) to about 1 cup of liquid. I was a little worried based on the reviews that this blender wouldn't be up to the task, but I love Hamilton Beach because the rubber gasket between the blade mechanism and the glass jar is permanently attached, meaning no little rubber gasket to lose like with an Oster. So, great news! This particular model works great for making thick, frosty smoothies. I've had it now for about 6 weeks, used it twice a day, and haven't had any problems. Oh, it is kind of loud like others have mentioned, but not much worse than any other blender I've used. Oh, and I hate keeping applicances on the counter, but this one looks nice enough and gets enough use and I keep it out anyway. One weird thing: I got the black blender, but the cord is gray...odd choice on HB's part...

I love this blender! I bought it at Target for based solely on how it looks, and have been very pleased with the purchase for the last two weeks.

Every day I blend a frozen fruit smoothie and have experienced none of the problems that other reviewers have with the fruit processing. I have to assume that they are either not using enough liquid or perhaps aren't even blending long enough. While the machine is certainly loud (the engine is housed in metal, what did you think it was going to sound like?) it's about as loud as my KitchenAid stand mixer. In other words: yes, you might wake up people sleeping in the house, but why are you blending ice in the middle of the night, anyway?

I think another consideration is that blending takes a minor amount of skill. If you want a thick, frozen fruit smoothie, you can't just flip it on and walk away. You have to pulse for the first few blends, until all the large chunks have had a pass through, and then you might have to tap the air pocket out a few times. This is how ALL home blenders are. Only the most powerful, expensive blenders get around the tapping of the air bubble, and some of those ones can't even do it -- I know, I've used a 0 blender at work.

Like I said, for the price? This is a lovely appliance, both in function and form.

As always Amazon delivered my purchase in a timely manner and it arrived in good condition.

I decided on this blender after first checking with Consumer Reports magazine and then reading the reviews on Amazon.com.

I am not disappointed with the blender; it is everything that is advertised including the noise level. Some of the reasons that I purchased this one are, it has a glass container (I am getting away from plastic food containers), it has an all metal drive and minimal plastic, is less likely to break, and has only two speeds (less gadgetry).

It performs well on fruit smoothies (I throw in frozen fruit), veggie smoothies, and hummus, it is simple to use and cleans up easily.

I was very excited to receive this blender after reading all the reviews. However, when I received this blender, I was extremely disappointed. This is by far the loudest appliance ever! I thought something was wrong, so I double-checked to make sure everything was in place. I put in 3 cups of ice and expected they would all be crushed, that didn't happen. I had to remove the many pieces of icecubes in order to give my children the snow cones they were expecting. I will return this product!

Compared to a Hamilton-Beach blender of equal power this was more expensive. It worked well for 3 years, but then the seal on the shaft that goes into the bottom started leaking. I plan to purchase a new part to replace the damaged one because it would be more expensive to replace the blender. Pros; looks good. Adequately crushes ice. Cons: noisy, only one speed (holding the toggle up gives you another slightly different speed, but requires manually holding the toggle the whole time). Overall it seems adequate, average, functional, but not remarkable in any way.

In the search for a good 12 volt blender for the boat (there isn't any), I come across the Margaritaville Explorer. While more than I wanted to spend, it has lived up to it's expectations.

You simply pour the mix, for 1 to 3 drinks, in the picture, put the ice up top, turn the knob to how many drinks you want, and push the button. It does the rest for you. A perfectly blended margarita.

This machine is loud, but not a bunch louder than any other quality blender.

Also, if you don't put in enough mix, the blender/mixer may not pull down the ice on the top requiring you to spoon mix it. This is not a problem if you mix properly.

I've made 7 pitchers over the course of 4 days so far with no re-charge and it is just as powerful on the 7th pitcher as on the 1st.

For the price, the should have included the optional carrying case.

This machine far exceeded my highest expectation. A few months ago I was given the plug-powered version as a gift and was blown away by its quality. Then I found out that Margaritaville made this battery-powered version! I knew I just had to have it for my pontoon boat and travel... it did not disappoint. Are you looking to make some lumpy smoothies? Want to have big chunks of unblended ice in them? Would you like to have unblended clumps stuck to the bottom of your blender's pitcher? Then this is the blender for you!

Seriously, this blender is completely worthless as anything other than countertop ornamentation. This blender leaves lumps of unblended fruit after 2 solid minutes of blending, lumps of unblended ice cream in smoothies, and even when left on the highest setting for 2 minutes there are still pieces of ice half a centimeter in diameter. The only thing that "Wave Action" does is make sure that you have to wash the lid of the blender every single time you use it, even if you're only blending about half a pitcher's worth of liquid/solids.

But hey, it looks okay sitting on your counter taking up space so at least it has that going for it.

If I could give it negative stars I would.

Went ahead & bought this after reading a glowing review in Cook's Illustrated magazine, even though my classic Waring Blender wasn't broken. The Waring stuck all the time, left loads of chunks in whatever I was blending & was too narrow at the bottom. This Kalorik does none of this. It's nice & square & easy to get stuff out of, as well as to clean. It also has a glass container, although it can make you nervous to clean, can be hard to find these days. It can be loud, but I think you expect that when you're using a blender. All the blades pointing in all different directions do a fantastic job blending everything I want them too. Amazing price when you look at what blenders usually cost.

This blender, supposedly noted for its ability to chop ice and make smoothies, is not very good at either. I make a post-workout smoothie with this machine five times a week and I spend more time stirring my frozen berries with a wooden spoon trying to get them in just the right place where the blades will do what they're supposed to do then I do using the blender. I should say I USED to use this blender to make smoothies but the sealing ring came apart after only a dozen hot water hand washes. And that's when the really bad things started happening. I went on the Kalorik website to order a replacement sealing ring and, knowing how poorly made they are, thought it prudent to order a few. At check out I was astonished to see that I was being charged .99 for EACH .99, one ounce rubber ring! I sent three emails to customer service inquiring about whether that was standard policy or if it was a mistake. I NEVER HEARD BACK. I finally called customer service and spoke with someone who promised me there was an error and that he would get my replacement parts out to me. My credit card was charged that night. Now, here it is THREE WEEKS LATER and I'm still waiting. I call customer service again and, turns out, they never shipped the replacement parts! I very much wish I had never bought this blender. It's not very good and when something goes wrong you'll be out of luck. Best to look elsewhere for quality products and quality customer service. In short, Kalorik = fail.
